BBQ 2011

A Fall tradition
in the town of Matthews, Troop 39 has indeed been "Smokin'
Pigs Since '75." In late September we build a 100 foot long
grill in the parking lot of the Matthews United Methodist
Church and cook over 10,000 pounds of prime Boston pork butt.
Once cooked and smoked to perfection, the meat is hand
chopped, seasoned and packed by the adults of Troop 39. The
one pound tubs are perfect for freezing for up to one year. We
also make our own vinegar-based sauce and mouth-watering
Brunswick stew. Meals are served in the MUMC dining hall on
Friday October 7 from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm. Enjoy!
